Italian tuition is calculated from your family's income and your country, not printed on a price list. It can be very cheap. The visa is not.
Cheap tuition, expensive visa. Italy raised the student visa financial requirement to €10,179.85 a year, up from roughly €6,000. That number decides whether Italy is realistic for you, and it has nothing to do with your grades.

Not free, but close to it at some public universities. Tuition is set from your family's financial position and, at many universities, from your country of residence. The University of Turin's lowest band, which includes Pakistan, pays €500 a year. Everyone also pays €146–€156 in regional tax and stamp duty.
€10,179.85 for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years, up from roughly €6,000. It is separate from tuition and it is the main barrier for most Pakistani applicants.
The regional DSU right-to-study scholarship is open to non-EU students and is the one that funds a full degree — a cash grant, free canteen access and university housing or a housing contribution. The MAECI government scholarship pays €9,000 but runs only three to nine months, so for most applicants it is not a full-degree award.
Final admission and visa decisions are made by universities and embassies.
